We at OpusJournal are delighted to announce that we have recently become a Crossref sponsor for Balkan countries.
Crossref is a not-for-profit organization that provides digital services for the scholarly community. Their mission is to make research outputs easy to find, cite, link, assess, and reuse. They do this by assigning persistent identifiers called Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to scholarly content, which allow for persistent content linking and discovery.
As a Crossref sponsor, OpusJournal is now able to help interested parties learn more about the services and benefits of Crossref and will tirelessly work toward increasing awareness about Crossref services among publishers in the Balkan countries.
OpusJournal’s partnership with CrossRef will certainly undoubtedly have a positive impact on the scholarly community in this region and on Balkan bound’ publishers that decide to cooperate with us.
Our sponsorship will help to break down barriers to research dissemination and open up new opportunities for knowledge sharing and discovery of researchers from the region. Also, we are providing a seamless publishing experience and instant DOI registration through our Opus platform. If a sponsoring member is also using our Opus platform, they can synchronize their manuscript metadata directly with Crossref, and generate DOIs instantly through the system. This will help streamline the publishing process for journals and make it more discoverable to a wider audience, as well as provide a valuable tool for measuring the impact of published research.
We believe that this partnership with Crossref will not only benefit the scholarly community in the Balkan countries but will also contribute to the global dissemination of research and accountability in research. As a not-for-profit organization, Crossref is committed to improving and promoting the best practices in scholarly publishing and increasing the accessibility and discoverability of scholarly content worldwide.
By collaborating, OpusJournal and Crossref can facilitate the advancement of knowledge for researchers and publishers in the Balkan region and beyond, thereby contributing to the scholarly community’s growth and development in the region.
